The Division of Student Programs facilitates student growth through groups like Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS) (begun in 1985), Appalachian & the Community Together (ACT) and Outdoor Programs. This record group contains mostly administrative materials and some ephemeral materials spanning 1981-1992.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Division of Student Programs provides students with engagement opportunities to build community and facilitate student growth through groups like Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS) (begun in 1985), Appalachian & the Community Together (ACT) and Outdoor Programs. Student Programs produces concerts and performing arts events at on campus venues like Legends and Farthing Auditorium and also offers a variety of ways that students can get involved with their peers and community as well as explore interests.

Scope and Contents

The Division of Student Programs record group contains mostly administrative materials such as memos, budget documents, correspondence and reports. These materials concern planning, policy and employment for the entire division, but many of the files concern Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS). In addition, there is some ephemeral material such as programs, calendars and publicity materials. The collection spans 1981-1992, with the bulk being 1986-1990. Additionally, one accession deals entirely with the first years of APPS existence, from 1985 to 1987.
