Abstract:

Alumni Affairs facilitates engagement between the university and alumni via events, correspondence, mailings, reunions and fundraising. These records contain a wide variety of materials including memoranda, brochures, correspondence, articles, minutes, scholarship information, event planning documents, expenses, schedules, photographs, and ephemeral material dating 1934-2002.

Biographical/Historical Note

Alumni Affairs facilitates engagement between the university and alumni via events, correspondence, mailings, reunions and fundraising. The office is part of the University Advancement Division and is headed by the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Alumni Affairs, who reports to the Chancellor and Board of Trustees. Alumni Affairs operates out of the McKinney Alumni Center, located just off campus near the Holmes Convocation Center.

Scope and Contents

These records contain a wide variety of materials including memoranda, brochures, correspondence, articles, minutes, scholarship information, event planning documents, expenses, schedules, photographs, and some ephemeral material most of which was given out by Alumni Affairs or used at their events. The bulk of the collection comes from the Alumni Affairs Events File, which contains memos, letters, brochures, minutes and pictures concerning alumni events, homecoming, reunions, and the Alumni Association between 1966 and 2001, though there are some earlier materials, dating as far back as 1934.
