Special Collections staff can meet with you to discuss research strategies pertaining to a specific project. Four days advance notice is required for topics using items from the Closed Collection. Appointments can last up to 30 minutes. This service is open to all researchers, with priority attention given to ASU students and faculty. Many published materials relating to the Appalachian region and stock car racing are available for use in a browseable, open stack area inside Special Collections. Many items may be checked out. Archives, Manuscripts, and Rare Books (Closed Collection)

Sessions are available for undergraduate and graduate courses and can be tailored to meet the needs of the instructor. Please give at least 3 weeks advance notice to avoid scheduling conflicts and to allow us time to prepare. Patrons may use the photocopier in Special Collections to duplicate materials from the Open Stacks. Patrons will need to have an App Express card or bring nickels, dimes, or quarters.

The Viewing and Listening Room in the Cratis Williams Reading Room is available on a first-come, first-served basis for individuals or small groups who need to use Library-Use Only audio or video media from Special Collections. This room cannot be scheduled for classes or used for group study.
