Digitized content from our collections is available in these locations:

  • Appalachian State University Libraries Digital Collections repository includes digitized manuscript collections, photographs (including historical photographs of App State), oral histories, audio recordings of ballads and folk songs, and issues of The Appalachian student newspaper from 1934 to 1998. Also view specific digital projects created by members of the University community, many of which are related to our collections.

  • Hank Schoolfield Universal Racing Network Collection. Listen to NASCAR race radio broadcasts from the Universal Racing Network, owned by renowned racing publisher, publicist, and broadcaster Hank Schoolfield (1930-2008), who donated these original recordings of NASCAR races to the Stock Car Racing Collection. URN was the first independent radio network to broadcast races. If races are not accessible, please contact Suzanne Wise wisems@appstate.edu for more information.
  • Matanya Ophee Collection, one of the world's largest collections of printed and manuscript guitar scores from the 19th- and early 20th-centuries, includes a website of digitized public domain materials.
